The proposal is the first start to your happily ever after. Plan the perfect picnic proposal for that romantic story to tell all your friends! Summer is the best time to set up these proposals. Your fiancé-to-be will think you have set up an intimate getaway while you plan to pop the question. The best part about these proposals is they can be set up anywhere. Customize your picnic proposal with a couple tips from us at Events By Deb! The Location Your first step is to find the best location. Think about places you and your significant other love to travel to. You can choose a place that is local or a destination to make it an adventure. Perhaps you have a favorite hiking spot you can set up your picnic. If you live near a beach, create that perfect sandy retreat with the waves as your background. If no particular spot comes to mind, we recommend researching local park grounds that have a private area so you have privacy. Make sure you watch the weather! The Set Up There are two ways to set up a picnic proposal. The first is to set everything up beforehand. What we love about this method is that you can completely customize the look of your picnic. Have a bottle of champagne chilling with two glasses on a flat surface surrounded by candles. One couple used a recycled wooden pallet to set up their food, beverages, and candles. Next to this place a big blanket with pillows customized with “Will You Marry Me?” for that ultimate cozy look and surprise as...

What is a Pop-Up Wedding? Similar to an elopement, the goal is for minimal cost and guests. This is perfect for the couple who wants a wedding but wants to save some dollars or travel for their wedding. Typically, with less than 20 guests, the goal is to just “show up” and have everything all set for the big day. A Pop-Up Wedding will ask only two things to be decided. What date/time would you like to get married? Be ready to choose your own wedding dress, rings, and write your vows. We will handle the rest. Your décor, florals, photographer, music, cake, and venue will be chosen for you. Next, you can choose add-ons such as hair and makeup, and guest favors. It’s like a build-your-own wedding without having to spend hours on Pinterest or scouring for...

Your first step in any event planning should be to set the budget. This will allow a much smoother process moving forward as you book vendors and make purchases. It can feel a little overwhelming at first to pin down exactly how much to spend and what to make major allowances on while laying out your vision. With a clear budget in mind, planning your event will become a much simpler task! Where to begin? We like to stick to the main points: the who, what, where type questions. What is the type of event you are planning? How many people will be on the guest list? Where is the venue for your event? These three key points will determine the bulk of your budget. What is your event? The money needed to create an amazing birthday party is far less than a grand wedding. This may seem like an obvious answer, but take it a step further and determine what kind of event. Are you aiming for an upscale retirement party? A modern wedding? A boho-chic birthday bash? How many attendees? Your guest list total will create the logistics of catering, seating, and how much space you need. The next questions following will have a lot to do with how many people you will be accommodating. 20 people versus 200 makes a big difference on where to allot your spending. What is your venue? Securing a location should always be one of the first steps in your event planning process. Your other vendors will need to charge travel and services accordingly. Often, your venue may want to take...
