Eating, Exercise & Meditation

Eating, Exercise & Meditation

Taking care of yourselves during the Summer is so important. With the heat, harsh rays, and many events and activities, we are exposed to the outdoors more than usual! Days are longer which means we are out and about for more hours of the day. To give ourselves some TLC we stick to a regimen of eating well, exercising, and meditating. Eating Eating right is about customizing a meal plan that works for you. Having plenty of nutritious options in the house are the right start to making sure you are eating well. Try to prepare your meals ahead of time so you can grab and go the essentials. Have an abundant fruit bowl at all times to curb our sweet tooth. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Having balanced meals throughout the day will give you the most energy and prevent an afternoon crash. Always have small snacks to avoid fast-food and stops at convenience stores where the options are not always the best. Exercise Your workout should reflect your lifestyle. Even if you don’t have time to attend a formal gym, make sure you stay stretched and active will aid in your overall energy. Making sure you are active can be as easy as parking further away at the store, so you get some extra steps in. Choose the stairs rather than the elevator. Especially as the weather becomes breezy and cooler at night, a brisk walk around the block will energize you! Meditation We like to meditate for at least ten minutes a day. Early in the morning before any chaos can cloud our mind,...

Spring Carnivals and Festivals

Spring is finally in the air and we are looking forward to some exhilarating day trips to carnivals and festivals in Charlotte, NC! We wanted to highlight some of our favorite spots and festivals hosted in the Queen City so you can check them off your summer list! Location, Location! Where are the best locations in Charlotte to suit these types of events? Freedom Park is a beautiful location on the water that holds the annual Festival in the Park featuring arts and crafts from local talent. Famous street 1000 NC Music Factory Boulevard transforms throughout the year for festivals from the Queen City Brewfest to the Moo & Brew Festival. Carson Boulevard hosts the South End Wine Fest and South End Hops Festival! A Day In the Sun One of our favorite summer activities at Events By Deb is attending a festival on a nice, sunny day. We will be at the Taste of Charlotte this June, sampling from over 100 restaurants during this three-day event. Music, entertainment, and local retail lines the street and makes us say, “Summer is here!” At the end of April, don’t miss the Family Spring Carnival at Symphony Park at the SouthPark Mall.   Hosting a festival or carnival? Events By Deb plans many outdoor...
Meeting Trends for 2018

Meeting Trends for 2018

What’s trending? Earlier this month, we talked about planning corporate events & parties. In case you missed it, check out the blog here! To go along with this topic, we wanted to touch on meeting trends for 2018. We get asked all the time to help plan office parties, large corporate gatherings, or tips on putting together a quality and enjoyable meeting atmosphere. In an industry that focuses on milestones, we like to plan events for these smaller victories, too! No matter your profession, at one point you have had to attend a meeting. Focus on Technology. Using digital media has been a meeting staple, but now all focus will be on the big screen. Don’t get stuck in dated methods, switch over to the screens. You’ll save paper and hold attention longer a little longer than classic binder presentations. Many companies are distributing tablets for agenda notes and revving up the creative displays of concepts. Facilitate focus. Refreshments can be a great addition to meetings. Create an informal discussion portion where the meeting attendees can help themselves to coffee and light snacks. Invite thoughts and opinions on an open forum basis while reviving staff with creative bites and catering. Follow Up. A lot of buzz can occur after a meeting. Follow up with staff with a follow up to prompt additional discussion and thoughts on your topics. This is also great as an agenda reminder, highlighting key points and asking for attendees to think beyond the initial...
