The proposal is the first start to your happily ever after. Plan the perfect picnic proposal for that romantic story to tell all your friends! Summer is the best time to set up these proposals. Your fiancé-to-be will think you have set up an intimate getaway while you plan to pop the question. The best part about these proposals is they can be set up anywhere. Customize your picnic proposal with a couple tips from us at Events By Deb!
The Location
Your first step is to find the best location. Think about places you and your significant other love to travel to. You can choose a place that is local or a destination to make it an adventure. Perhaps you have a favorite hiking spot you can set up your picnic. If you live near a beach, create that perfect sandy retreat with the waves as your background. If no particular spot comes to mind, we recommend researching local park grounds that have a private area so you have privacy. Make sure you watch the weather!
The Set Up
There are two ways to set up a picnic proposal. The first is to set everything up beforehand. What we love about this method is that you can completely customize the look of your picnic. Have a bottle of champagne chilling with two glasses on a flat surface surrounded by candles. One couple used a recycled wooden pallet to set up their food, beverages, and candles. Next to this place a big blanket with pillows customized with “Will You Marry Me?” for that ultimate cozy look and surprise as you walk up to your picnic! If you want to keep the suspense, bring a traditional basket with everything you need. Set up your blanket, food, and beverages together. Once done, it’s time to propose!
The Question!
Now is the moment. Whether everything is waiting for you, or you set your picnic up together, take the time to express how your partner makes you feel and why you wanted this romantic moment together. Right before you are both about to sit down, get on one knee and make it official! If it is important to your partner to have parents and close friends, make sure you let them in on the plan and have enough blankets and champagne for everyone to enjoy as the sunsets and your life together begins.
