Spring is finally in the air and we are looking forward to some exhilarating day trips to carnivals and festivals in Charlotte, NC! We wanted to highlight some of our favorite spots and festivals hosted in the Queen City so you can check them off your summer list! Location, Location! Where are the best locations in Charlotte to suit these types of events? Freedom Park is a beautiful location on the water that holds the annual Festival in the Park featuring arts and crafts from local talent. Famous street 1000 NC Music Factory Boulevard transforms throughout the year for festivals from the Queen City Brewfest to the Moo & Brew Festival. Carson Boulevard hosts the South End Wine Fest and South End Hops Festival! A Day In the Sun One of our favorite summer activities at Events By Deb is attending a festival on a nice, sunny day. We will be at the Taste of Charlotte this June, sampling from over 100 restaurants during this three-day event. Music, entertainment, and local retail lines the street and makes us say, “Summer is here!” At the end of April, don’t miss the Family Spring Carnival at Symphony Park at the SouthPark Mall.   Hosting a festival or carnival? Spring Fling | Event Planning Expert Tips

The wakening of Spring brings forth so many traditions to pull us out of our winter shell. Annual Spring Fling events make their way onto our calendars in March and April. How do you make your event a unique experience to remember? We have the expert event planning tips. Up-lighting. As you may know, Events By Deb is offering up-lighting services in 2018. With competitive pricing and full set up and break down, we love the effects up-lighting adds to our events. A great way to incorporate Pantone’s color of the year, ultra violet, into your Spring Fling is by adding up-lighting to main areas of your venue. Creative hors d’oeuvres. Keep refreshments modern. Renting a food truck or mobile caterer that can set up stations for pizzas, sandwich bites, and sides are inexpensive and diverse. Having finger food stations will keep attendees moving and dancing, while cutting costs on dishes, linens, and formal catering staff. Spring Fling Favors. Photo booth services have come a long way since they hit the social scene a couple years back. With the integration of backgrounds, filters, props, and digital copies – having a photo booth at your event is trending now more than ever! Meeting Trends for 2018

Meeting Trends for 2018

What’s trending? Earlier this month, we talked about planning corporate events & parties. In case you missed it, check out the blog here! To go along with this topic, we wanted to touch on meeting trends for 2018. We get asked all the time to help plan office parties, large corporate gatherings, or tips on putting together a quality and enjoyable meeting atmosphere. In an industry that focuses on milestones, we like to plan events for these smaller victories, too! No matter your profession, at one point you have had to attend a meeting. Focus on Technology. Using digital media has been a meeting staple, but now all focus will be on the big screen. Don’t get stuck in dated methods, switch over to the screens. You’ll save paper and hold attention longer a little longer than classic binder presentations. Many companies are distributing tablets for agenda notes and revving up the creative displays of concepts. Facilitate focus. Refreshments can be a great addition to meetings. Create an informal discussion portion where the meeting attendees can help themselves to coffee and light snacks. Invite thoughts and opinions on an open forum basis while reviving staff with creative bites and catering. Follow Up. A lot of buzz can occur after a meeting. Follow up with staff with a follow up to prompt additional discussion and thoughts on your topics. This is also great as an agenda reminder, highlighting key points and asking for attendees to think beyond the initial...
Trends for Corporate Events & Parties in 2018

Trends for Corporate Events & Parties in 2018

Planning a corporate event can require a little extra attention to detail. These types of parties have to reflect professionalism and stick to a tight budget. These events also cater to a large group with a specific theme. To lift morale and celebrate achievements within an office environment, planning a corporate event may seem overwhelming! Location, location! The best corporate events and parties are held in a location that is not the office. The change of environment is a necessary expense that will set the event apart from the regular work week. Choosing a venue that facilitates chairs and tables, and even offers catering packages, is the best way to execute a change of scenery. Don’t put in more work than you have to! Many locations can combine packages of different vendors to the type of event you’re looking to host. Go digital. A major benefit to hiring an audio and visual expert is the seamless use of technology to keep material accessible. Music to allow guests to mingle and the easy switch to any presentation or special recognition videos will integrate information in an exciting way. Plan a Takeaway. A well thought out corporate event will leave all attendees with a take away. This could be a clever piece of marketing material integrated into a bulk purchased item they will use like pens, notepads, etc. Personalizing materials will add a unique gift that will continue to spark creativity and ideas past the event. Virtual Content. With smartphones and tablets always on hand, utilizing virtual content such as check ins and contests can set your corporate event apart. Inspire...
